I came here with an expectation in mind that the Resort in the remotest part of the North East will receive me with lots of rainfalls and a romantic atmosphere. But, during the journey and stay in the resort I have gathered an experience which is beyond my expectation. It is like an entire falls came down from earth (heaven).

The hospitality provided is very much heartiest. It came from the heart of the owner and the staff. The natural and homely environment in the resort is the simplest and best.

There is lot of scope and opportunity to develop this resort into a mighty tourist destination.

Lastly, a cautious step to be taken to preserve the simplicity of the resort. With modernization, the homely and simple atmosphere should not be destroyed.

With thanks from the core of my heart.

Dear Denis,
I salute your endeavors to promote Cherrapunjee to the World map of tourism. Your different projects are unique.

You have well guided your resort from Shillong, by roadside directions. Both the roads to the resort,- one by the side of Mawmluh cement factory and other through Mawlong village are very thrilling and enjoyable.

The warm welcome by your aides,- the Khasi ladies gave us the impression of HOME AWAY FROM HOME. Foods were excellent and available as per the menu. We got the impression that, your kitchen is always ready to prepare as per the requirements of the visitors.

We enjoyed our trek to the Living Root Bridge (single) a lot. Only due to your encouragements my wife accompanied me with our 5 years son for the trekking.

The guide maps are well defined. It is worth mentioning about the walking sticks, boots of different size you are keeping for unseasoned travelers or trekkers.

The six-roomed, Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort is in perfect harmony with the present 'eco-system' (refer to your project on eco-tourism), [PS: a bigger lodge will accommodate a large number of tourists, but the ecosystem will be in 'threat' ??? ].

During our two days stay at CHR, we enjoyed a lot and every moment we spent there is worth mentioning. To promote and encourage the local youth to present the local music and songs is a very good effort.

The sunset views were very memorable and we enjoyed every moment. The color of clouds, sky changed every moment and it was difficult to draw the views in canvas.

I imagine, in your last few years in CHR you have enjoyed the Nature, sky, rain, clouds, lots and lots.

I will be happy to be a part of your projects and promoting Cherrapunjee and CHR.

I was posted at Laitkynsew in the previous years from 1993-1997 and I am glad to see this Resort coming up. This time I was on tour for Supervision & Monitoring and made it a point to halt here. It was an experience staying here and I hope that I may be able to come for a longer holiday. Wishing you all the best and God Bless.

I’d like to see more places like this, organising eco-friendly vacations in less travelled areas – without such guesthouses it remains difficult to explore regions with treasures such as living-root-bridges. Thanks to Denis and the team for envisioning the need for tourism in this area and their love for nature!

The four of us came for a few days from Bangladesh for Rest and Recuperation. It was perfect. Everything was enjoyable – the cleanliness of the resort, hot showers & great food. Went to the foot bridges and although it was very physically demanding, it was well worth the effort. Denis is the perfect host and his staff were attentive and friendly. We will certainly recommend the Cherrapunjee Resort to anyone looking to get away for a few days.

I have been to Cherrapunjee thousands of times, yet this trip to this place has made a difference in me. The closeness to nature and the sweetness of the people of 'Cherra Resort' has made this place a dream place.

The service is wonderful and I must say, "Keep Up the good work."

We had a wonderful time here. We were very happy with the wonderful hospitality and cheerfulness of the staff. Everything was just perfect. We especially enjoyed the way in which you share your culture with tourists. It is our regret that we were only able to enjoy the splendour of Cherrapunjee for such a short time. But I am sure we will be back soon! Thank you for a lovely time.

Our holidays were made extremely memorable. In fact, people did mention to us about the resort & we drove in just to have a good lunch. But, couldn’t resist staying in for the night. The suggestion to drive over to KYNREM FALLS was icing on the cake & the music around the BONFIRE was literally the “Cherry”. The effort of opening a resort & maintaining it professionally with access to all amenities is truly commendable. We would certainly be recommending this resort to our friends.

Keep up the “BEST”.

A Jewel of the North East – Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort. Our stay has been a very memorable one because of mainly two reasons: The food, ambience, the hospitality of the staff has been excellent. This has proved beyond a doubt that Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort under the leadership of Mr. Denis is leading the way to providing Tourists with with a home away from home.

This is our first outing as husband and wife & it will always be cherished.

All the best Mr.Denis Rayen.

We were thinking of a very lazy holiday at LAITKYNSEW. But it was a holiday packed with SURPRISE of every kind.

* The warm feel at home reception here made us feel that we belong to this place.
* The wide opportunities for experiencing the NATURE
* The Living Root Bridges was the obvious choice with TWO TREKKERS in the family.

Personally for me this trip is a lifetime experience after having undertaken two treks. I just want to preserve every moment at LAITKYNSEW in my memory.

Thanks Mr.Denis for a wonderful holiday.
